The bicycle is a perfect way to discover the distinct scenery of the Mekong Delta known as the “fruit bowl of Vietnam”. The adventure begins in Vinh Long and visits islands in the Mekong, the Khmer temples that abound in this region, the lotus pond of Can Tho and the floating market of Phong Dien. Ride over quiet back roads passing local schools, fruit orchards and many of the cottage industries that make up this delightful part of Vietnam.
Saigon – Vinh Long 69km
You will be met at your hotel by your support staff and vehicle. Depart Saigon and begin your cycling adventure. Passing local villages and arriving My Tho the gateway city of the Mekong Delta for lunch. The afternoon cycle to Vinh Trang Pagoda and markets on your way to Cai Be for your home stay.
Vinh Long – Tra Vinh 55km
After breakfast journey by boat to visit a local sweet making factory, the continue cycling along the country lanes. Later a stop is made at Ba Om Pond before finishing the day in the Khmer town of Tra Vinh.
Tra Vinh – Saigon 40km
Journey through the town of Tra Vinh which is populated by Khmer people with many of the regional architecture in a Khmer style, passing through the delta towns arriving back at Vinh Long, before your drive back to Saiogn.
