Siem Reap
Arrive Siem Reap where you will be meet for the transfer to your hotel. This afternoon you will have your first taste of the Angkor Temples - explore Banteay Kdei. Enjoy sunset drinks with a leisurely boat ride on the moat of Angkor Thom
Day 2:
Siem Reap
Tour of the Forest Temples. Travel by road to Srah Srang and then the famous Ta Prohm, walk through the forest to the seldom visited temple of Ta Nei. Then end the morning at Ta Keo temple, where a climb to the top is rewarded by an expansive view over the surrounding forest. This afternoon visit Angkor Thom then en route to the Terrace of the Leper King. Begin again with a walk approximately (1 km) to Preah Palilay through the shaded parkland behind the terraces, pass Phimeanakas with its beautiful lakes, and the imposing Baphuon to finally reach King Jayavarman’s state temple of Bayon.
Day 3:
Siem Reap
Travel by road 45km to the east of Siem Reap to explore the floating villages of Kompong Khleang or Kampong Pluk. Enjoy a picnic lunch before continuing on to explore the mysterious Beng Mealea temple, thought to be a blueprint for Angkor Wat.
Day 4:
Battambang
A sunrise tour to witness breath-taking views of Angkor Wat. Explore the central complex and bas-reliefs of Angkor Wat before returning to your hotel for a late breakfast. Depart Siem Reap later this morning and transfer in a private air conditioned vehicle to Battambang. Explore the villages, markets and rural scenery stopping along the way – a popular choice is Preah Netpreah to learn more about stone carving.
Day 5:
Battambang
Explore Battambang town with its French colonial buildings including Psa Nath in the centre of town, where you can get an insider’s view into local life, followed by a ride on the fabulous bamboo train. This afternoon travel southwest to explore Phnom Sampeau. Also visit Phnom Banan an Angkorian ruin, located on the top of a mountain overlooking the countryside and rural villages. On the way back to the town, visit Cambodia’s first winery.
Day 6:
Phnom Penh
Depart Battambang this morning and transfer in a private air conditioned vehicle to Phnom Penh. Stopping enroute to learn more about Khmer crafts in Kompong Chhnang Province.
Day 7:
Phnom Penh
Start your day with with a visit to the notorious Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum and the Killing Fields located on the outskirts of Phnom Penh. This afternoon visit the Royal Palace and the Silver Pagoda with a floor covered with over 5,000 silver tiles. We then head to the National Museum, which houses the world's foremost collection of Khmer art. This evening a private sunset boat cruise on the Tonle Sap and Mekong rivers.
Day 8:
Departure
The morning is at leisure until your departure transfer to Phnom Penh airport for your onward journey.
