Arrive in Vientiane where you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Afternoon enjoy a city tour visiting That Luang Stupa, victory monument Pratuxai and Phon Thong Savang – fresh food market. Visit Ban Nong Bouathong the weaving village finishing with sunset at Chao Anu Park on the Mekong River.
This morning after breakfast drive through to Vang Veing about three hours drive from Vientiane, stopping along the way at Tha Ngone for those interested in discovering how locals make “Kao Larm”- rice coconut mile. Make a quick stop at Ban Keun, famous for its salt mine. Continue on to Tha Heua a fishing village. Arriving Vang Vieng mid afternoon, where you will visit the picturesque Tham Jang Cave. Remainder of the day is spent at leisure.
Today we journey to Xieng Khung an area once devastated by American bombings. Approximately 6 hours travel will be mostly on back road which is a great way to explore real laos. You will see very few other travellers, making pit stops along the way to stretch your legs and take some wonderful photographs.
Today you visit the Plain of Jars, mysterious and ancient, the stone jars are apparently carved out of solid rock and are scattered all over the plateau. There are several different theor8es as to the purpose of the jars which are estimated to be 2,500 to 3,000 years old. Then visit a Mulberry farm which specialises in the production of naturally-dyed, handmade Lao silk. Followed by a visit to the UXO (Unexploded Ordnance) centre.
This morning, visit the Central Market of Phonsavanh to watch the different hill tribe people barter and exchange merchandise. En-route to Luang Prabang, stop off to see a 200 year old site with Buddha images in Thampra, with pit stops at various Hmong and hill tribe minority village who welcome you to their villages. Travelling through natural scenery of mountains and forest landscap. Stopping for a tea break at Sala Phoukhoun , where the borders of Vientiane, Xieng Khuang and Luang Prabang meet as a T-Junction. This evening, enjoy a Complimentary Traditional Lao Massage
You are invited to participate in Alms offering at early morning along the street, where the monks from town gather to collect you’re offering. After, transfer to local wooden boat pier for your cruise upstream to Pak U Caves,where you will view thousands of Buddha Statues. Take a short stop stop on the way at Ban Muang Kham specialising in river weed making followed by a stop at Ban Xanghai, where they produce rice wine.
Start the day with a visit to the Museum (former king’s palace). The former palace displays a lovely collection of personal artefacts of the Royal family. Just across the road is Mt Phusi which provides panoramic views of the city. Lastly a visit to Wat Xieng Thong temple the most beautiful in Luang Prabang.
Later, transfer to the airport for your departure flight.
