On this 4 day tour, head to award winning eco lodge, a sanctuary for Lisu heritage and a direct link to the heart of this fascinating tribal group.
Pick up from Chiang Mai airport or hotel and transfer to lodge. On arrival transfer to the Pha Mieng village and trek to the remote village of Hmong Pha Mieng in the jungle. After a picnic lunch – walk to the top of the mountain to where the Red Lahu Village then onto the Lahu village for overnight.
Trek to Huay Sadharn waterfall, then transfer by local truck to the Rafting Station, enjoy rafting down the river for 45 minutes. Return to Lodge with a stop en-route at a tea plantation, where you will be introduced to the process of growing, harvesting and production of tea. After lunch a guided walk from Ton Lung temple to visit the herbal garden. A stop is made at the village shaman’s house where you will learn about his life, beliefs, curing rites and Lisu traditions. This afternoon you will visit the rice paddies, and learn and participate in the various stages of rice cultivation. This evening a Thai dinner with a traditional Lisu dance show.
A choice of activities today including a bike tour around the region or a ox-cart ride through farmland and orchard. Transfer to Chiang Dao to an ethnic Karen Village followed by a trek to a traditional Lahu village. Transfer to Khum Lanna for a cooking class before a Thai dinner that you helped prepare yourself.
This morning an early visit to the local market by bike. Followed by another cooking class in Northern Thai cuisine at Kum Lanna . Followed by a choice of a steam bath or herbal massage before being transferred back to Chiang Mai.
