Departing from Chiang Mai, travel to Sukhothai via Lamphun, home to one of the north's most important temples - the 1,000 year old Wat Phra That Hariphunchai. Visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Sukhothai Historical Park, with ruins of almost 200 buildings, including dozens of temples.
Join the locals offering food to the monks on their morning alms before following the history of Siam as you reach Ayutthaya.
Continue to the city of Kanchanaburi. The main sight is the Bridge over the River Kwai, as the start of the infamous Death Railway to Myanmar. Afternoon at leisure.
Travelling further south, reach Bangkok with a stop en-route at the popular floating markets in Damnoen Saduak. Upon arrival you will be transferred to your inner-city Bangkok hotel where your tour arrangements end.
