Hanoi. Your local English speaking guide will meet you at the arrivals hall of Hanoi airport for the transfer to your hotel. This afternoon a brief walking tour introduces the fascinating old quarter and Hoan Kiem Lake. Tonight an introduction to Vietnamese Cuisine.
Hanoi. After breakfast at the hotel enjoy a half-day city tour to visit some of Hanoi’s historical sights. Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum and house, where he preferred to live simply – behind his Palace! One Pillar Pagoda is a small but significant pagoda with a Buddhist representation of the world and the Temple of Literature which was originally built in 1070. Afternoon at leisure. Tickets tonight for the Water Puppet Theatre.
Hanoi – Halong Bay. Depart Hanoi for the coast where you board your vessel to discover the area known as the ‘land of 3,000 islands’. Rising from the sea the islands offer a wealth of opportunity for the local people.
Halong Bay – Hue. Continue cruising Halong Bay before a transfer back to Hanoi and on to the airport for the evening flight to Hue. On arrival transfer to your hotel.
Hue. A tour begins with a boat trip along the Perfume River, before visiting the Tu Duc or Khai Dinh Tomb and the Imperial Citadel, a day exploring the early history of the Imperial rulers of Vietnam. Lunch consists of fabulous local pancake.
Hue – Hoi An. Discover the spectacular Hai Van Pass, rated by National Geographic as one of the 50 ‘must-do’ journeys in the world. With stops on the way, at the Cham Museum, China Beach and Marble Mountain.
Hoi An. A walking tour takes you around and inside the historic old buildings of this World Heritage site. Afternoon at leisure.
Hoi An. This morning a half-day Cooking Class at Red Bridge Cooking School teaches you some wonderful dishes to bring home to impress your friends. Afternoon at leisure.
Hoi An – Ho Chi Minh City. Transfer to Danang for your flight to Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon). On arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel. This evening your guide will take you to enjoy a wonderful Steam Boat dining restaurant.
Ho Chi Minh City. A morning tour to the infamous Cu Chi Tunnels, 30km outside of Saigon, showcasing one of the most intact monuments from the war. On the way back stopping at a lacquer ware factory. Afternoon local sightseeing. Dinner tonight is Saigon’s version of the local BBQ.
Ho Chi Minh City – Mekong Delta. 1-day Mekong Delta tour. This morning drive through the ‘fruit-bowl’ of Vietnam to the Mekong River, where you will board a boat to explore the myriad of estuaries and islands. Returning to Saigon with photo stop enroute.
Ho Chi Minh City. At leisure for you to enjoy Saigon before a transfer to Saigon Airport for your onward journey.
