Day 1 Taipei
Upon arrival at Taipei Airport you will be met and transferred to your hotel with the rest of the day spent at leisure.
Day 2 Taipei
Today a Taipei city tour covers key highlights including the impressive Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall, National Palace Museum where 5,000 years of Chinese imperial arts and jade collections are exhibited, Martyrs’ Shrine of traditional architecture, a local Taiwanese temple and a Taipei Handicraft Centre. The remainder of the day is spent at leisure.
Day 3 Taipei – Sun Moon Lake
Travel from Taipei to Sun Moon Lake, situated 762 metres above sea level in the lofty mountains of Central Taiwan. Stop at the famous Wenwu Temple, Holy Monk Shrine and Ci En Pagoda. If time permits, enjoy walking trails, biking, hiking or boating at the lake.
Day 4 Sun Moon Lake – Kaohsiung
Embark on a journey to Kaohsiung passing via the quaint Jiji Railway Station and drive to Fo Guang Shan Buddhist Monastery, a renowned sacred Buddhist sanctuary in southern Taiwan where a walking tour will delve into Buddhist teachings. Upon arriving in Kaohsiung, explore the Love River and Liuhe Night Market.
Day 5 Kaohsiung – Zhiben, Taitung
This morning explore Kenting National Park, located at Taiwan’s southern tip. With 37 miles of coral-rimmed shoreline along three sides of the park, this is the park’s main attraction. Stops will be made at Eluanbi light house, Maobitou coastal scenic area and Longpan Park. Continue on to Taitung via the Southern Link Highway.
Day 6 Zhiben – Hualien
Travel along the exciting East Coast National Scenic Area, stretching 170km down the east coast of the island, weathering, erosion and accumulation have produced a wide range of landforms here. Late afternoon proceed to Hualien.
Day 7 Hualien – Taipei
This morning visit Taroko National Park. Taroko Gorge is an exceptionally beautiful, narrow ravine created by the Liwu River which has cut deep into the mountains of solid marble. Pass by Ci Mu Bridge with stops at Swallow Grotto and Changchun Temple. Later, drive back to Taipei through the Syue-Shan Long Tunnel (12.9km).
Day 8 Taipei
Today transfer back to Taipei Airport where tour arrangements end.
