After flying to Xian marvel at the stunningly well-preserved Terracotta Warriors followed by a visit to the Big Wild Goose Pagoda. Explore Xian’s ancient city walls then fly to Shanghai to tour the classical Yu Gardens, the Jade Buddha Temple and view Shanghai Museum’s collections of art. Stroll on the Bund contrasting with Pudong New Development Zone and enjoy a Huangpu River Cruise.

Day 1: Beijing

Arrive in Beijing where you will be met and transferred to your hotel.

Day 2: Beijing (B, L)
This morning, a full day tour begins with a visit to Tiananmen Square followed by the Forbidden City – the largest and best-preserved cluster of ancient buildings in all of China. Continue to the Summer Palace, the largest imperial garden in the world.

Day 3: Beijing (B, L)

Escape the city and head to the Great Wall (Badaling section), a symbol of ancient Chinese civilization which has stood for more than 2,000 years. After lunch, explore the Yonghegong Temple and on arrival back in Beijing, a photo stop is made at the famous Birds Nest and Water Cube.

Day 4: Beijing - Xian (B, L)

Today, visit and explore the Temple of Heaven, before transferring to the airport for a flight to Xian.

Day 5: Xian (B, L, D)

The sights for today include the Terracotta Warriors which remain stunningly well preserved – a vigilant force standing guard over an ancient imperial burial site followed by a visit to the Big Wild Goose Pagoda. This evening, enjoy a dumpling dinner and Tang Dynasty show.

Day 6: Shanghai (B, L)

Explore Xian’s ancient city walls before a flight to Shanghai where the rest of the day is spent at leisure.

Day 7: Shanghai (B, L, D)

Today, tour the classical Yu Gardens which were built 400 years ago, followed by the Jade Buddha Temple. Continue to the Shanghai Museum with its collections of bronze ware, porcelain, calligraphy, paintings and stone sculptures. Explore the colonial past at the Bund then continue to Xintiandi and Pudong New Development Zone. This evening, enjoy a Huangpu River Cruise.

Day 8: Shanghai (B)

Today, transfer to Shanghai Airport where tour arrangements end.
