Embark on a 3 night Yangtze cruise from Chongqing through the sheer Qutang, Wu and Xiling gorges. After passing through these dramatic ravines visit the massive Three Gorges Dam, the largest hydro-power plant in the world. On disembarking speed to Shanghai in a fast train to explore the ancient and modern contrasts in this vibrant city and surrounds.

Day 1: Beijing

Arrive in Beijing where you will be met and transferred to your hotel.

Day 2-3: Beijing (B, L)
During your Beijing stay, highlights will include the Great Wall and Ming Tombs, the Sacred Way, a Peking Duck dinner, Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City, the Temple of Heaven and the Summer Palace.

Day 4-5: Beijing – Xian (B, L)

Take a bullet train to the ancient capital of Xian where you will visit the fascinating Terracotta Warrior Museum, the Big Wild Goose Pagoda and enjoy a Tang Dynasty show.

Day 6: Xian – Chongqing (B, D)

Fly to Chongqing where you will visit Ciqikou, a historic Song dynasty town with traditional style buildings before boarding your Yangtze River Cruise.

Day 7-8: Yangtze River Cruise (B, L, D)

Continue your cruise on the mighty Yangtze River with scenic stops along the way.

Day 9: Yichang – Shanghai (B, L)

Disembark and catch a high-speed train to Shanghai.

Day 10: Shanghai (B, L)

Enjoy a full day of sightseeing including the sublime Yu Gardens, the Jade Buddha Temple, a walk along the famed Nanjing Road, the Bund with its iconic skyline and the Pudong area.

Day 11-12: Shanghai – Suzhou (B, L)

Head to the delightful water town of Suzhou, known throughout China as the Venice of the East where you will visit the celebrated 12th century Garden of the Master of Fishing Nets, considered to be one of the best preserved in the city.

Day 13: Suzhou – Hangzhou (B, L)

Transfer to Hangzhou where you will enjoy a cruise on the West Lake, surrounded by serene pagoda topped hills, and heavenly temples.

Day 14-16: Hangzhou – Guilin (B, L)

Fly to Guilin. Enjoy the beautiful scenery along the Li River along with a visit to the Reed Flute Cave. On Day 16 transfer to the airport where tour arrangements end.
