Visit the most fascinating temples in Chiang Mai, home to a wealth of stunning and historic sights.
Drive to the summit of Doi Suthep, where the impressive Wat Phra That Doi Suthep sits. The final climb to the site is via a mythological naga (dragon-headed serpent) staircase of 309 steps. Inside the cloister is an intriguing copper-plated chedi topped by a five-tier gold parasol, which contains partial relics of Lord Buddha. Other temples visited include Wat Suan Dok and Wat Chedi Luang, originally built in 1411.
