Life on the Mekong Delta is far from anything you’ve witnessed in the hustle and bustle of Ho Chi Minh City.

Journey to Cai Be and traverse the waterways, local industries and communities of the river. Encounter an early start as you head to Cai Rang Floating Market, an amazing spectacle awaits as you witness the daily ritual of the markets – photo opportunities abound here. Transfer to Chau Doc where you will visit a floating fishing village to see how the locals breed Cat Fish – the most important product of this province. Visit a local temple, followed by a drive to the summit of Sam Mountain with views stretching across to Cambodia.

Itinerary


Day 1: Saigon - Vinh Long - Can Tho (L, D)

Meet your local English speaking guide at 8:00am in your hotel lobby and depart Saigon for the journey to Cai Be floating market.
Here approximately 30 – 50 boats filled with fruits, vegetables and other products anchor along the banks of the river selling their wares.
The merchandise sold in each boat is hung on a high pole in front of the boat as a sample to attract customers from a distance.
After the floating market visit a local orchard, rice crisped producing process and local houses.
After lunch cruise along the Tien River to see the peaceful tranquil life of villagers and admire the natural vegetation the Mekong Delta is renowned for.
You then drive to Can Tho and on arrival check into the Victoria Can Tho Hotel. Dinner is included this evening at a local restaurant.

Day 2: Can Tho - Chau Doc (B, L)

After an early breakfast travel by boat to the biggest floating market in the Mekong Delta, Cai Rang floating market. A lot of photo opportunities are waiting for you as you witness the daily ritual of the markets. Drive back to the hotel and enjoy some free time before checking out at 11:00am for the drive to Chau Doc. A stop will be made enroute for lunch at a local restaurant.
Arrive Chau Doc around 3:00pm and check into the Victoria Chau Doc Hotel. We then travel by boat to a floating fishing village to see how the local people breed Cat fish – the most important product of this province. Then it is back to Chau Doc town for a visit to the holy temple where the locals worship the Goddess of Chau Doc, followed by a drive to the summit of Sam Mountain with views stretching across to Cambodia.

Day 3: Chau Doc - Saigon (B)

After breakfast at the Victoria Hotel journey back to Saigon arriving mid to late afternoon.
