With your first taste of Sri Lanka’s illustrious history in Anuradhapura, continue on to its second capital, the ancient city of Polonnaruwa to see some of the island’s most dazzling ruins from its next significant era. As you head to Sigiriya Rock Fortress, an early start offers a morning hue resulting in a different filter altogether for landscape photography. Offering fantastic moody images, the cave temples of Dambulla will surely excite, ahead of arriving into Kandy where a picturesque lake setting with delightful stalls and buzzing street market await.

From Kandy, travel up the verdant green hills that surround the city and venture further into Sri Lanka’s most beautiful and magical region, the Hill Country – proceeding to the town of Nuwara Eliya. With its cool air, magnificent waterfalls and thriving tea culture, the enchanting allure of these hills has to be seen to be believed – have your camera ready! With winding roads through the gorgeously lush tea plantations – see tea pluckers amid the well-maintained tea bushes that look like green sculptures stretching up and down the misty hills as far as the eye can see.

The last part of your journey will see you relax in the coastal town of Negombo. Watch the sunset over the tropical landscape and marvel at its rich pinks and ambers, the ideal end to an enchanting journey.

Day 1 Colombo

Upon arrival at Colombo Airport you will be met and transferred to hotel. This afternoon meet with a local professional photographer to give you tips and an insight on what to capture whilst you are touring.

Day 2 Colombo

EExplore Colombo and its unique historical sites – capture its urban colour and colonial charm.

Day 3 Colombo – Anuradhapura

Transfer to Anuradhapura and take part in a tour of this ancient city – the beginning of Sri Lankan civilization and one of the greatest cities of its age.

Day 4 Anuradhapura - Sigiriya

Today transfer to Sigiriya with a stop at the ancient city of Polonnaruwa – within the city walls stand the ruins of palaces, dagobas, temples and various other historical monuments.

Day 5 Sigiriya

Depart early morning with a packed breakfast to climb and shoot one of the island’s most spectacular sights – the 5th century rock fortress of Sigiriya. Spend the rest of the day at leisure.

Day 6 Sigiriya – Kandy

Travel to Kandy today via the spectacular cave temples of Dambulla – one of Sri Lanka’s most magical Buddhist treasures. Upon arrival in Kandy enjoy a city tour including a visit to the Temple of the Tooth Relic. In the evening admire a traditional Kandayan show and photograph the dancers with all their vibrant colours.

Day 7 Kandy - Nuwara Eliya

Rise early and transfer to Nuwara Eliya surrounded by tea plantations and beautiful scenery – the perfect setting for natural photo shoots.

Day 8 Nuwara Eliya - Negombo

Today transfer to Negombo where the rest of the day is spent at leisure. Sit back, relax and reflect on your time in Sri Lanka as you look through your amazing photographs.

Day 9 Negombo

Today, transfer to Colombo Airport where tour arrangements end.
