Enjoy hiking in spectacular scenery along diverse sections of the Great Wall, some restored and others in near original condition on this 4 day tour.

Start trekking from the Huanghuacheng Great Wall section, the only portion alongside water. The following days you are driven to Xizhaizi Village to hike over rock steps and through bush to Mutianyu, trek over the Gubeikou section, well-preserved and largely unrestored, and Jinshanling the best preserved segment of the wall, originally built around 1570 during the Ming Dynasty. Accommodation is in basic hotels in local villages. An overnight tour option is also available.

Day 1: Beijing-Huanghuacheng

Start the day with a drive to the Huanghuacheng Great Wall section. This is known as the only Great Wall section that is submerged in water. Hike the west wing of Huanghuacheng, past several fruit yards and bushes towards the Yaoziyu Village.

Day 2: Huanghuacheng - Gubeikou (B, L)
Today, drive to Xizhaizi Village and start hiking from the foot of the Jiankou Great Wall. Climb to the main tower – Zhengbei Tower. Continue hiking towards the Mutianyu section of the Great Wall. The trail consists primarily of rock steps, but is covered with bushes in some sections. Upon arriving at Mutianyu, you will notice a change in environment. From Mutianyu, transfer to Gubeikou.

Day 3: Gubeikou (B, L)

Hike the Gubeikou section of the wall. Well-preserved and largely unrestored, it retains its original bricks and stones from two separate dynasties.

Day 4: Gubeikou – Beijing (B, L)

Today drive to Jinshanling, the best-preserved section of the wall. Originally built around 1570 during the Ming Dynasty, this section stretches about 10 kilometres long with five main passes and 67 watch towers. Later, transfer back to Beijing where tour arrangements end.
