Day 1: Beijing

Arrive in Beijing where you will be met and transferred to your hotel.

Day 2: Beijing (B, L)
Enjoy a full day of sightseeing – visit Tiananmen Square, The Forbidden City and the Summer Palace.

Day 3: Beijing (B, L)

Today, visit the Great Wall of China (Badaling section) and the Ming Dynasty’s Imperial Tomb. If time permits visit a Jade Stone Carving Factory and make a photo stop at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Centre – the Birds Nest and Water Cube.

Day 4: Beijing (B, L)

Visit the Temple of Heaven, a renowned imperial site where the ancient Chinese emperors made sacrifices to heaven for bountiful harvests. After lunch, enjoy a traditional rickshaw ride through the ancient Hutongs (alleyways).

Day 5: Beijing - Xian (B, L)

Transfer to Bejiing Airport for a flight to Xian. On arrival visit the Shaanxi Provincial Museum followed by an afternoon visit to the Big Wild Goose Pagoda.

Day 6: Xian (B, L, D)

Visit the 2,000 year old UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Army of Qin Terracotta Warriors and Bronze Chariots which remains stunningly well preserved. Tonight, enjoy a different taste of China with a dumpling dinner and colourful Tang Dynasty Show.

Day 7: Xian - Guilin (B, L)
Transfer to Xian Airport for a flight to Guilin. Upon arrival, visit Reed Flute Cave, named so due to the verdant reeds growing outside it. Inside this water-eroded cave is a spectacular world of various stalactites, stone pillars and rock formations created by carbonate deposition.

Day 8: Guilin (B, L)

Today, embark on a full day cruise on the Li River. The Li River (Li Jiang) meanders south for 85km between Guilin and Yangshuo through the finest scenery that this part of the country can provide. Disembark at Yangshuo where you will have the opportunity to stroll around this quaint town before the drive back to Guilin.

Day 9: Guilin (B)

Spend the day at leisure to further explore Guilin or simply relax.

Day 10: Guilin - Shanghai (B)

Today, transfer to Guilin Airport for a flight to Shanghai where the rest of the day is spent at leisure.

Day 11: Shanghai (B, L)

Today, visit the unique Yu Gardens, with architecture from both Ming and Qing Dynasties. Continue on to the Shanghai Museum a treasure trove of ancient relics and arts. Explore the colonial European past at the Bund, followed by Xintiandi Street, a trendy boutique area of fashion and tradition with plenty of contemporary style bars and restaurants.

Day 12: Shanghai (B, L)

Known as the ‘Venice of the East’, visit the water town of Suzhou. Explore the Garden of Master of Nets one of four most famous gardens in China before taking a cruise on the Grand Canal. Enjoy the tranquil atmosphere.

Day 13: Shanghai (B)

Today, transfer to Shanghai Airport where tour arrangements end.
