Itinerary


Day 1: Vientiane (D)

Arrive in Vientiane. Visit the key sights of Vientiane followed by a traditional Lao dinner and performance show.

Day 2: Vientiane (B, L)

Today, visit Buddha Park where 200 Buddhist and religious images dating back over 500 years were introduced from India. You will also enjoy a private lunch cruise on Nam Ngum River.

Day 3: Vientiane – Luang Prabang (B)

Transfer to Vientiane Airport for a flight to Luang Prabang where you will explore this UNESCO World Heritage Listed Centre.

Day 4: Luang Prabang (B, L)

This morning, take a traditional wooden boat upstream to visit the famous Pak Ou Caves. In the afternoon, visit Kwang Si Waterfall.

Day 5: Luang Prabang – Champasak (B)

Transfer to Luang Prabang Airport for a flight to Champasak. Here, embark on a boat to visit Vat Phou temple, a stunning and mysterious Khmer complex overlooking the Mekong.

Day 6: Champasak – Don Khone (B)

Proceed to Khone Phapheng Falls – from the vantage point fantastic views can be seen. Here the Mekong is 10km wide, forming a vast area of channels and small branches. Later, head to Khone Island, known for its fisherman village, French colonial schools and houses which are still well preserved.

Day 7: Don Khone – Don Khong (B)

Visit the surrounding countryside, jump on a local tuk tuk and tour the Don Khone area. Visit Liphi Waterfall, a collection of powerful falls spilling down at odd angels along a branch of the Mekong River. Later, enjoy a boat ride to Don Khong, a peaceful and quiet island. Collect a bicycle and ride around the island visiting villages, schools and nearby markets.

Day 8: Don Khong – Pakse (B)

Rise early for an unforgettable scene of Alm offerings. After which, visit a fresh food market at its liveliest in the morning. Transfer to Pakse via the Bolaven Plateau located in an ancient volcano that erupted millions of years ago. Surrounding the plateau are a number of protected national parks, dramatic waterfalls, remote hill tribes, dense jungle and coffee plantations.

Day 9: Pakse (B)

Today, transfer to Pakse Airport where tour arrangements end.
