When one conjures up images of Cambodia, most tend to think solely of the renowned temples in Siem Reap – whilst we definitely can’t deny its Angkor Wat ‘wow’ factor, we do feel that you may be pleasantly surprised by the country if you were to explore further afield.

This two week long itinerary allows you to discover more and offers the perfect mix of culture, local life, temples and relaxation.

Itinerary


Day 1: Phnom Penh

Upon arrival at Phnom Penh Airport you will be met and transferred to your hotel.

Day 2: Phnom Penh

Explore the city’s prime attractions including the Royal Palace and the adjoining Silver Pagoda, the National Museum, Wat Phnom Temple, the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum and the Central Market.

Day 3: Phnom Penh – Battambang

Transfer to Battambang, travelling via Oudong and Kampong Chhnang, known for its traditional pottery.

Day 4: Battambang

Enjoy a ride on the Bamboo Train followed by a visit to the nearby Ancient House located in Wat Kor Village. You’ll also head to Phnom Sampeau.

Day 5: Battambang

Enjoy a cycling tour through the local countryside today, after which, participate in a hands-on cooking lesson giving you an insight into Khmer cuisine.

Day 6: Battambang – Siem Reap

Transfer to Siem Reap travelling via Banteay Chhmar, a place with an exceptional atmosphere yet gets very few visitors.

Day 7: Siem Reap

Rise early and visit the key sites of the Angkor Complex – Angkor Wat, the ancient walled city of Angkor Thom, Bayon Temple, Baphuon, the royal enclosure, the Terraces of the Elephants and the Leper King along with Ta Prohm Temple.

Day 8: Siem Reap

Visit the pink sandstone temple of Banteay Srei, stopping at local communities along the way. Later, visit the temples of the Grand Circuit. Tonight, attend a performance of Phare, the Cambodian Circus.

Day 9: Siem Reap

Enjoy a visit to Kampong Khleang floating village followed by a visit to the forgotten temple of Beng Mealea.

Day 10: Siem Reap – Koh Rong Island

Transfer to Siem Reap Airport for a flight to Sihanoukville. Upon arrival you will be met and transferred to the pier for a boat transfer to your resort on Koh Rong Island.

Day 11-13: Koh Rong Island

Spend the next three days enjoying time at leisure.

Day 14: Koh Rong Island – Sihanoukville

Airport Today, boat back to the mainland where you will then transfer to Sihanoukville Airport where tour arrangements end.
