Day 1: Beijing

Arrive in Beijing where you will be met and transferred to your hotel.

Day 2: Beijing (B, L)
Enjoy a full day of sightseeing – visit Tiananmen Square, The Forbidden City and the Summer Palace.

Day 3: Beijing (B, L)

Today, visit the Great Wall of China (Badaling section) and the Ming Dynasty’s Imperial Tomb. If time permits visit a Jade Stone Carving Factory and make a photo stop at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Centre – the Birds Nest and Water Cube.
Tonight you have the option to join in a Legends of Kung Fu Show with Peking Duck Dinner from $127 per person.

Day 4: Beijing (B, L)

Visit the Temple of Heaven, a renowned imperial site where the ancient Chinese emperors made sacrifices to heaven for bountiful harvests. After lunch, enjoy a traditional rickshaw ride through the ancient Hutongs (alleyways).

Day 5: Beijing - Xian (B, L)

Transfer to Bejiing Airport for a flight to Xian. On arrival visit the Shaanxi Provincial Museum followed by an afternoon visit to the Big Wild Goose Pagoda.

Day 6: Xian (B, L, D)

Visit the 2,000 year old UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Army of Qin Terracotta Warriors and Bronze Chariots which remains stunningly well preserved. Tonight, enjoy a different taste of China with a dumpling dinner and colourful Tang Dynasty Show.

Day 7: Xian - Chongqing (B, L, D)
Today, transfer to Xian Airport for a flight to Chongqing. On arrival visit the Panda Zoo then later enjoy a local flavoured hotpot dinner before boarding your river cruiser, the MV President.

Day 8: Three Gorges (B, L, D)

Sail in all the great gorges and deep mountain valleys. In the afternoon, visit Shibaozhai – a strangely-shaped pagoda hugging a hill.

Day 9: Three Gorges (B, L, D)

Sailing into the Qutang Gorge and Wu Gorge, the river changes to wildly stirring, riffle water along with swirling bubbles. The mossy cliffs are hemmed by the banging pathways under the Twelve Peaks. When the ship gets to the famed Shennong Stream, you will change to a small boat and sail deep into the Shennong Stream. Return to the main ship and continue sailing into the Xiling Gorge.

Day 10: Yichang - Shanghai (B, L)

An excursion to the Three Gorges Dam site is included this morning before passing through the Five Step Lock which lowers the ship down 412 feet, before ending the cruise in Yichang. Transfer to Yichang Airport for a flight to Shanghai where the evening is spent at leisure.

Day 11: Shanghai (B, L)

Visit the main sights of Shanghai today. Begin with a visit to the classical Yu Gardens, followed by the Shanghai Museum. Next head to the Bund and the boutique area of Xintiandi Street.

Day 12: Shanghai (B, L)

This morning, head to Suzhou with its beautifully interconnected waterways, ancient canals and traditional gardens.

Day 13: Shanghai (B)

Today, transfer to Shanghai Airport where tour arrangements end.
